Stepping down boycotts Netflix successes

With six races left of the season, Verstappen leads the World Cup summary with six points down to Lewis Hamilton.

The duel between the two has been an intense battle all season, and will probably go all the way to the last race before a winner can be crowned. A duel fans can look forward to following in the next season of the Netflix series “Drive to Survive”, but it will be without interviews with Red Bull driver Max Verstappen.

– They have made rivalries that do not exist, Verstappen says in an interview with the Associated Press .

– I have decided not to be part of the series anymore and have stopped doing interviews. I am not a dramatic person and just want what is shown to be true, he adds.

The 24-year-old overall leader in F1 has been central in the first seasons of the popular series, but now it’s stopped.

Verstappen is further asked in the interview with AP whether he sees Hamilton as a rival.

– In the Netflix series, we are probably that. Once we hid next to each other when we came walking. They will probably bring that, he says.

Sunday is the Grand Prix in Austin, USA. Verstappen’s boycott is a sliver of joy for American fans of the series.

– I understand that they are trying to increase the popularity in the US, but for my part as a driver I do not want to be a part of it.
