“Following a medical recommendation, to rest for a few days, the Queen went to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon for preliminary examinations, then returned to Windsor Castle for lunch today (Thursday) and remains in a good mood,” said the Palace spokesman Buckingham.
Queen Elizabeth II cancels the trip
On Tuesday evening, Elizabeth II attended a reception at Windsor Castle for the London Global Investment Summit. She spent time there in the company of her son, Prince Charles, and grandson, Prince William, and Prime Minister Boris Johnson. She also shook hands with Bill Gates and the US climate envoy John Kerry.
“Her Majesty is in a good mood and is disappointed that she will not be able to visit Northern Ireland, where she will make a number of commitments today and tomorrow. The Queen sends her best wishes to the people of Northern Ireland and hopes to visit them in the future,” the statement added.
