The blood drive which took place yesterday at the Auberge du Draveur in Maniwaki was a success. The objective was to welcome 100 donors during this day. Héma-Québec is delighted to have achieved this objective by having filled all the available time slots.
Even if the total number of people who donated blood remains unknown, Vanessa Jourdain, public relations officer for Héma-Québec, is happy to see that the Val-Gatineau residents have answered the call. We listen to it:
The organization says 1,000 blood donations are needed daily to keep the reserve level optimal. Madame Jourdain points out that a single blood donation can save up to three lives. Here are his explanations:
