The flight schedule of the three carriers envisages up to 44 flights a week between Ruzyně and Schiphol.
The fourth route from Prague is being opened by Vueling, an airline belonging to the International Airlines Group. From December 3, it will start flying to Amsterdam, where it will compete with KLM and easyJet.
The carrier announced the start of the new route today, confirmed by Prague Airport spokeswoman Klára Divíšková. The entry of a third player on the route is likely to put further pressure on prices, although Vueling will have a relatively small share depending on the planned number of flights.
The flight plan provides for four flights a week: on Tuesdays and Saturdays departing from Prague at 9:10 (from Amsterdam at 7:30). He will fly on the route on Friday at 19:40 from Prague (17:30 from Amsterdam), on Sunday at 20:25 (18:15 from Amsterdam). Prices for return tickets start slightly below CZK 1,700.
Vueling is currently flying from Prague to Barcelona, Florence and Paris Orly Airport, and will start flying to the main CDG airport in Paris from the next summer flight schedule.
In September, Amsterdam returned to the top of the list of cities where most people fly from Prague. The dominant share on the route is KLM, which currently offers up to four flights a day, easyJet twelve flights a week.
“Vueling’s new air connection between Prague and Amsterdam will offer more opportunities for Czech passengers who are planning an extended weekend in Amsterdam, but will also support the renewal of inbound tourism. The Netherlands is one of the selected countries in which we currently focus on supporting incoming to Prague,“Says Jaroslav Filip, Director of Aviation at Prague Airport.
