Volkswagen with Guinness World Record – ᐉ News from Fakti.bg – Auto

Volkswagen ID.4, the first electric crossover of the German brand, set a new Guinness record. The information is from Volkswagen, which posted on Twitter that ID.4 has received the title of electric car that has traveled the maximum distance through the territory of a country. This is the United States, where the car traveled 56,300 kilometers, crossed 48 states and visited 628 Volkswagen dealerships. In total, the trip took about three months.

At the wheel of the Volkswagen ID.4 was the driver Rainer Zetlov, a specialist in fast long-distance travel, who was accompanied by photographer Derek Collins. In 97 days of travel, they made 208 stops at Electrify America charging stations, the largest network in the United States, with 650 stations and 2,800 separate terminals.

Volkswagen did not disclose the characteristics of the record electric car, but it is likely that the long-distance version with a battery of 77 kilowatt-hours was chosen for the trip. It provides the crossover with up to 522 kilometers of travel without recharging according to the WLTP cycle, and with express charging the stock can be replenished with 320 kilometers in about half an hour.

ID.4’s journey was monitored online, with the location updated every 15 minutes. Almost three months later, the electric car returned to Hurden, Virginia, where a certified Guinness Book of World Records was waiting for him.

Volkswagen with a Guinness World Record

It will be recalled that last week a Guinness World Record was set by another car without an internal combustion engine. Toyota Mirai has traveled the longest distance without charging for electric cars. In two days, the sedan traveled 1,360 kilometers, exceeding the autonomous mileage on the “passport” more than twice.
