He wrapped UFC boss Danu Whit around his finger in five minutes. He is rewarded with a contract with the most prestigious MMA organization. After Ľudovít Klein, the second Slovak in the “Champions League” Martin Buday (29 years old, balance 9-1) talks to ŠPORT.sk about his life experience in Dana White’s Contender Series so far.

Second Slovak in the UFC. How does that sound to you?
“An indescribable feeling, a dream come true. Now an even tougher robot is starting to fill others. ”
Dana White’s Contender Series is like a small UFC. What was the experience like?
“Everything was new to me, only the first trip to the USA… Every aspect was perfectly organized. I was aware of what was at stake. I didn’t reveal it, but before the match I was more nervous than ever. ”
The trip to the USA was a little drama. What has happened?
“At first I waited a long time for visas, so I was not preparing for Florida with Lajoš Klein. When I flew from Vienna to Vegas three weeks before the match, we were turned halfway through. One gentleman collapsed and could not be revived. We made an emergency landing in Iceland and returned us to Vienna after three hours by plane. We spent the night in a hotel and the next day we flew to the USA without complications. ”
Blachowicz beat me, but I enjoyed it
You trained for two weeks alongside the heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz in Warsaw. What did it give you?
“Super reception and training, they took care of me. When the camp in the USA fell, I was unhappy. But as a result, it turned out well and I will definitely return to Warsaw. I found several quality heavy weights there, which we have few at home. ”

You also completed one sparring with Blachowicz. What has it shown you towards the UFC?
“I was getting a battle, but I enjoyed it. In several respects, he surpassed me tremendously, he is a little further (laughs). I need to improve comprehensively and also sharpen the weapons I have. ”
Doesn’t the one-sidedness of sparing erode your self-confidence before joining the UFC, where you will face similar quality?
“On the contrary, it gave me a lot. He is a world champion. It would be naive to think that I would come and wipe the floor with it. If you only get one thing against such a fighter, it will excite you tremendously. ”
And she came out?
“Not at all (laughs). However, we only took a few laps and I believe there will be another opportunity. ”
He is defending Glover Teixeir for a week. Will we celebrate the new champion?
“I think Blachowicz can handle Glover.”
Hood punished me, broke my nose with the first blow
A few days before Contender, they changed your opponent, Hugo Cunhu was replaced by Lorenzo Hood. Was it a complication?
“I was surprised, but I didn’t leave. We studied it quickly and didn’t have to change our tactics fundamentally. Cunha would probably be a more demanding opponent, he also has quality jiu jica. ”
With the exception of 10 seconds, you dominated the match. Was Hood close to ending during them?
“I made a mistake and jumped up with him with my hands down. He punished me with a real cannonade, he broke my nose with the first blow. He shook me, but he wasn’t close to ending. I tied him up quickly and continued my tactics. However, no one has buried me in this way before. ”
Warriors rarely show pain. However, when you cut Hood’s thigh on the mesh with his knee, he shouted all over the hall. Have you experienced anything like this?
“After a successful bomb, you hear your opponent felt it. I have never experienced it so continuously. After the first knee, I knew he wasn’t doing well. But I got a little carried away, I had several opportunities to end it sooner. ”
The primary ambition was to lose weight, no UFC
What did you experience when the most influential man in MMA, Dana White, compliments you after the fight?
“Unreal feelings. Later, I projected a film in my head as I started at 18. At the time, my only ambition was to lose weight, no UFC. In this context, it is a ‘haluz’. ”

How did you celebrate? Did you leave a few coins in the “cities of sin” casinos?
“We ate well and had a beer, nothing exuberant. I’m 30 years old in November, maybe I’ll put it together. A hazard? You won’t leave Vegas without playing. ”
Did you not receive a bonus for the match fee?
“Unfortunately, the Jackpot was the paper with the UFC header (smile).”

What do your days look like after life success so far?
“I get together, in addition to the contract, I brought a broken nose. I’m still training at a relaxing pace, but I want to start preparing for the next duel as soon as possible. ”
How serious is a nose injury and when could you start training in contact?
“Maybe in a month, but it’s hard to say now. I don’t want to rush it so that my injury doesn’t recur after the first blow. ”
What is a rough estimate of the UFC premiere date?
“The first quarter of 2022. Let my nose be 100% and at the same time don’t have an unnecessarily long break.”
Last time you didn’t want to talk about ambitions in the UFC while you’re there. So what are they like?
“Win and make attractive matches. Another dream is to get into the TOP 15 gradually. ”
For relief, Karlos Vémola challenged you shortly before Contendre. He said you would return to the Octagon very quickly. What would you tell him about the contract with the UFC in the cam?
“I don’t even know.” Actions speak for me, not a mushroom. I didn’t think about the man and his cries in the dark. He publicly pointed me and questioned me, not for the first time I closed my mouth to him and other enemies. He knows that he would not take the fight against me and somehow back off. And I wasn’t even interested in where a medium-weight scalp would move me? It’s a thing of the past, now I have a better program (smile). ”
