The Schrijver family lives in a spacious villa in Epse, Gelderland. Niek and Wendy – both entrepreneurs – have known each other since high school. Now they are years later and they have created their own paradise in the small village. ”It’s actually a constant feeling of vacation what you experience here”, says Niek. The weekly budget that the family has to spend is therefore quite high, no less than 1500 euros.
It is very different with the Van Vliet family from North Holland. The family members are therefore more than happy when they hear the weekly budget. Time to fulfill dreams: Dion and Nick have always wanted to meet their favorite YouTuber, Ronald, and Tessa’s big dream is to ride a horse one day. No sooner said than done, but that dream turns into a nightmare for the girl. Once on the horse, Tessa bursts into tears. “I want to stop,” she says. “Tessa you want this so badly… your dream is finally coming true,” Mother Vera tries. But Tessa is too scared to continue and eventually gets off.

Despite those touching images, viewers are also surprised about the way in which the Van Vliet family handles the budget. The family goes shopping for a day and spends no less than a thousand euros on clothing. “I think after day 2 she is already through the money. 1000 euros clothing, hairdresser, eating out…’ writes one viewer.
