RI Wants to Stop Selling Fuel Vehicles, What’s the Fate of Pertamina Gas Stations?

Indonesia plans to stop the sale of motorized vehicles fueled by oil (BBM). This is done in realizing net zero emission (NZE) in 2060. Starting from 2040 motorcycles that consume gasoline are prohibited from being sold in Indonesia, while cars in 2050.

Pertamina NRE Chief Executive Officer Dannif Danusaputro explained that currently operating gas stations in Indonesia, 98% of them are Pertamina gas stations. Of course the policies that will be taken by the government in the future will have an impact on the business of the state-owned oil and gas company.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif had previously conveyed a plan to stop the sale of conventional fueled vehicles.
