Sport Club Sao Paulo‘s football player William Ribeiro, attacked the referee after he fouled himself in the league match. In the 14th minute of the second half, the game was stopped and referee Rodrigo Crivellaro was taken to the hospital.
The Brazilian press shared that referee Crivellaro was in good health and was discharged from the hospital.
The lawyer in charge of the case told the UOL website, “I decided to charge him with attempted murder because, in my view of the case, I risked a fatal outcome” used the phrases.
The event took place on the 113th anniversary of Sport Club Sao Paulo. The club described the events as ‘one of the saddest events in history’ and terminated the contract of arrested Ribeiro.
