The law will allow adults 21 years of age and over to buy cannabis and grow plants for their own consumption, the penalties for possession of 85g of cannabis flowers will disappear as will the criminal records of those previously convicted of use. .
Funds will be allocated for drug addiction treatment and education, collected through a tax system. The governor’s office estimates that nearly 350 million dollars annually would come to bail out the coffers of this state battered by the health crisis.
