“The outcome is laconic, I do a good luck to Roberto Gualtieri“. These are the first words of Enrico Michetti, candidate for mayor of Roma for the center-right, after the results of the ballot. A phrase that made social networks unleashed, given the difficult understanding. Laconic, in fact, is an adjective used to refer to the way of speaking or writing and means short, concise. While Michetti probably meant that the outcome was clear, lapidary, glaring.
So there are those who, online, recall the typical scene of Mimmo in Bianco, Rosso and Verdone, who with a puzzled face asks himself “in what sense?”; who thanks the candidate for mayor of the center-right “for giving us this last pearl” and who regrets it ironically: “We lost an opportunity: with him mayor 5 years of safe memes”. In fact, nobody seems to have understood the precise meaning. But there are those who point out (also here with irony): “He presented himself as someone who knows the car, not the language“.
After the initial slip in the press conference Michetti continued: “I hope that in the future there will be a different climate, a climate of greater serenity and aimed at good administration, with programs for the city at the center and not events of a national nature that can influence the vote”.
