Coronavirus in Bulgaria: Restaurants insist on free rapid tests for a certain period – Bulgaria

The chairman of the Bulgarian Association of Restaurants, Richard Alibegov, urged the state to provide free rapid tests. They have become an option for entering the facilities, as they are expected to be regulated by an order of the Ministry of Health as an option for admission to certain public places.

Alibegov explained that currently these tests cost about BGN 20, half of which are covered by restaurants. According to him, the state should buy such tests and they should be free for a certain period of time, during which the government should conduct a large-scale vaccination campaign. According to him, the tests will not cost taxpayers anything, because the Ministry of Health can apply for European money, as it was in other countries.

“In Europe, there are rapid test points 300-400 meters away and they were free until about 80% were vaccinated. Then they became paid. There must be a period in which they are free and the state runs out during that time. the work with vaccination, “Alibegov said.

He also called for the recognition of antibody tests on people who have not been registered as ill. According to him, the share of these people in Bulgaria is extremely high.
