Dutch photographer Paul Blanca (62) died on Friday at his home in Amsterdam. His girlfriend Marlies Jongsma confirmed this on Sunday.

Blanca has had a rough life with a lot of drugs and alcohol. He has stopped using drugs in recent years. “He died as a result of an eventful life. His body was gone,” said Jongsma. Blanca is buried privately.
In the 1980s, Paul Blanca was part of the Amsterdam art scene, which also included Rob Scholte, Joost Zwagerman, Koos Dalstra and Peter Klashorst. Blanca broke through with self-portraits and provocative photos.
