The SFC and the young Association of the City of the Forest have come together and are preparing to organize an inter-district “Urban football” tournament on Wednesday, November 3, in the afternoon, at the city-stadium on the road to Nancy. “This 7-a-side football tournament is aimed at 15-25 year olds, licensed or not,” says Yannick Zimmermann, organizer, employee at the SFC.
The interim company DLSI, sponsor of the club, will support the creation of this tournament considered as “a first” in Sarreguemines. “This gathering is an opportunity to forge links between all the districts of our beautiful city, to promote social diversity and to bring a positive identity to the animation of the districts”, specify Patrick Barth, president of the ‘ACF, and Mike Kennel, member. One city, seven clubs
With seven neighborhood clubs in the city (Beausoleil, Cité de la Forêt, Folpersviller, Istanbul, Neunkirch, SFC, Welferding), the organizers are above all hopeful of creating a friendly tournament “which will ultimately serve to develop and bring together between clubs ”. “This tournament must be a first step”, sums up Patrice Maire, president of the SFC, enthusiastic about the idea of promoting the image of his club’s openness to the city-stadium on the road to Nancy “now having equipment. adequate funds obtained through a municipal grant ”.
“This tournament is the first stone of a future merger between the SFC and the ACF, and we hope that all the youth of Sarreguemines football will come together around this event”, insist the organizers.
