Indonesiainside.id, Depok – Chairperson of the Depok City Indonesian Cancer Foundation (YKI), Elly Farida, said she appreciated the implementation of the Covid-19 vaccination for cancer, HIV/AIDS, thalassemia and other autoimmune patients held by the Depok City Health Service. The reason is that vaccination plays an important role in creating herd immunity.
“This is a humanitarian movement that all agencies must be involved, not only the government but also the private sector so that the handling of Covid-19 can be carried out together so that the vaccination target is immediately achieved,” said Mother Elly.
According to him, there is nothing to be afraid of from this vaccination. All people, including patients who have comorbidities such as cancer, can get vaccinations, because it is a form of togetherness in fighting Covid-19.
This was conveyed in response to the activities of the Health Service (Dinkes) together with Hermina Hospital Depok City to hold vaccination activities for people with cancer, HIV/AIDS, thalassemia and other autoimmune diseases. This is to create herd immunity or communal immunity in all levels of society.
The Mayor of Depok, Mohammad Idris also supports the successful implementation of vaccination for patients with diseases such as cancer, HIV.
“So the opportunity to get vaccinated must be followed for these patients. Because there is special assistance and supervision in order to increase their body immunity,” added Mother Elly.
Meanwhile, Director of Hermina Hospital Depok, Lies Nugrohowati, explained that this mass vaccination was held for two days, from October 15-16, 2021. Meanwhile, in its implementation, it served patients from inside and outside the city of Depok. (Nto)
