NEW YORK – Authorities are investigating an attack on a woman and her mother at a Long Island residence in which the suspect, who threatened to kill one of them, was also injured, County Police announced Saturday. Nassau.
According to detectives, the incident occurred on Friday, around 10:10 pm, when the suspect, David B. Miller, 51, was arguing with a 52-year-old woman inside the residence in the Massapequa park area. .
At that time, police said, Miller began hitting the 52-year-old victim’s face and head. Then, he allegedly wrapped his hands around the victim’s throat causing him to have difficulty breathing, while telling him: “I’m going to kill you.”
The 85-year-old mother of the victim, who was downstairs, heard the altercation and decided to go upstairs to stop the attack, the uniformed woman added. However, when she was on the stairs, the alleged attacker pushed her, causing several injuries to her head and arm.
Authorities arrived at the scene and detained him without incident. During the investigation, the uniformed officers determined that the defendant suffered self-inflicted knife wounds to the throat and body. He was transferred to a local hospital and is in critical but stable condition.
The women were also transferred to local hospitals.
Miller received two counts of assault in the second degree, assault in the third degree, criminal mischief in the fourth degree and criminal obstruction of breathing.
The authorities expect him to leave the hospital to process him. The relationship of the women to the accused is unknown.
