Adler Mannheim are the new leaders of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) after a 4-1 mandatory win at the bottom of the table Schwenninger Wild Wings.
Mannheim benefited from a defeat of the previous front runner EHC Munich in the Bavarian-Swabian duel against the Augsburg Panthers. Without nine injured, sick or paused players, Munich lost 4: 5 (1: 1, 3: 2, 0: 1) after extra time in Augsburg.
Nuremberg also loses with a new coach
The Nürnberg Ice Tigers continued their negative series in the first game under the responsibility of the former NHL coach Tom Rowe with the 2: 3 (0: 2, 1: 0, 1: 1) after extra time against the Krefeld Penguins. After just 24 seconds in extra time, the Franks had to accept the decisive goal from Lucas Lessio.
