Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass price coming (probably) through SEGA

Emily Rogers had some information about the price of the new subscription.

It was quite a surprise when Nintendo announced the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass last month. This expansion would give access to SEGA Mega Drive and Nintendo 64 games. The Nintendo 64 games would also be adapted to be played online.

Yesterday it was announced that Animal Crossing New Horizons will receive DLC which will also be included in the Expansion Pass and we got to see the price for the first time. One year for a normal subscription and a family subscription costs €39.99 and €69.99 respectively. This is double the original price and does not suit everyone equally well.

According to the well-known Emily Rogers, the main culprit is not the Animal Crossing DLC, but SEGA. SEGA has received a hefty fee for their games. Other licensing costs such as with Konami have also contributed significantly to the price.
