A scarifier
On Wednesday evening, a mother discovered that the baguette bought in a supermarket in the Thionville area contained the scarifier used to scratch the bread before baking. “It wasn’t just a small piece, but the entire tool! It looks like a cutter or razor blade; it is hung on a plastic handle. Look, everything is there, ”says the mother, lifting the scab to reveal the object of the crime.
The story gives more chills when she details: “Wednesday late morning, I was shopping at the supermarket. My children accompanied me; they were hungry. Spontaneously, I buy them a baguette and tell them that they will be allowed to eat it once in the car. And that’s what happened: I let them fend for themselves with the bread. Everyone does this! The wand was swallowed three-quarters and then put away at home. At the evening meal, when I tried to tear a piece of bread with both hands from the rest of the baguette, I felt resistance. I insisted a little but I saw something green in color. As I lifted the crust, I saw the blade: I couldn’t believe it! I could have cut my knuckles. Imagine if my 8 year old children had attacked the wand from the other end in the morning in the car: they would have slashed their little hands or worse! I dare not imagine, in fact, what could have happened … “
Two days later, return to the sender. And there, it is rather the managers of the store and the bakery department who turned pale. However, they could not provide an explanation as to the presence of the scarifier in the stick.

Understand how this could have happened
“The intentional lead was ruled out from the start and I believe them. I was told that the object would not have survived in the kneader; the only track for the moment is heading towards the next stage, when the sticks are molded by a machine ”, indicates the mother.
Store management must get back to them as soon as possible; compensation is being considered. Investigations will be carried out internally, the quality department will look into this unprecedented incident.
