Diplo posted a silly video of himself on Friday as he faces the possibility of multiple rape and sexual misconduct charges.
“My impression of the first human to try mushrooms,” captioned a clip of him holding the spore vegetable while wearing only a flyer on his crotch and a pair of multi-colored Crocs.
He also added the hashtags “#nationalmushroomday #mycology” and made the soundtrack for the music video for Edvard Grieg’s classic composition, “Morning Mood” from “Peer Gynt Suite No. 1”.
The DJ’s buddy, dancer Casey Frey, commented under the post, “Ur on timeout dip,” while many others just left several crying and laughing emoji.
But the criminal charges the famous DJ – née Thomas Wesley Pentz – could face are no laughing matter.
The Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office told Page Six last week that they were considering charges of invading privacy and intentionally giving someone an STI.
A woman, who filed her complaint with the LAPD in October 2020, claims Diplo raped her in her hotel room in Las Vegas after one of her concerts.
Meanwhile, the attorney for the “Lean On” musician has denied any wrongdoing.
“More lies from the same troubled individual who has been stalking and threatening Wes, his family and friends for years,” Bryan Freedman said in a statement. “As is known, this person attempted to extort millions of dollars from Wes and, after refusing to pay him a dime, launched a relentless campaign of harassment against my client. “
Diplo reiterated his lawyer’s feelings on social media, calling his accuser a “stalker”.
No criminal charges have yet been laid for the alleged incident.
As a result of the allegations, business apparently went business as usual for the EDM musician.
Last week Diplo posted another wacky video of himself giving a turtle a carrot with his mouth. He captioned the clip, “I can always count on you. “
As for work, he also seems to be doing well, sharing an Instagram story on Thursday about a concert scheduled for Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas this Saturday.
