PSG missed five players who are still on their way to national team gatherings. Sometimes there were stars like Leo Messi, Neymar and Angel di Maria. Paris Saint-Germain were forced to play their first league match after the break without them. Angers stood for the opposition.
And at first it looked like it would be an expensive break for PSG. After just over half an hour, the first goal of the match came – and then from Angers. It was Angelo Fulgini who found the right and gave his team the lead. 1-0 was also the score when the team went to the break.
But in the second half it turned for PSG, albeit not directly. Just over 20 minutes after half time, Danilo Pereira was able to nod the ball in after a corner.
The Paris team then struggled to find a lead and victory goal. In the end, they got dividends. With 85 minutes played, Mauro Icardi of VAR fell dramatically just outside the penalty area.
It was then Kylian Mbappé who stepped up to the penalty spot. There he secured the final result to 2-1 and PSG creates even more air behind them in the league top after the victory.
