Kevin Feige quiets big rumors about Chris Evans’ Captain America

For several weeks, Chris Evans’ Captain America has been the subject of several rumors, which would be false according to Kevin Feige, the boss of Marvel.

Since Steve Rogers decided to retire and hand his vibranium shield over to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) at the end ofAvengers : Endgame, we suspected that a new Captain America, or at least a spiritual heir, would sooner or later enter the MCU. This scene actually started the series Falcon and the Winter Soldier which will be launched this Friday March 19 on Disney + and hope to transform the trial after the success of WandaVision.

The series worn by Anthony Mackie in the role of the Falcon and Sebastian Stan in that of Bucky Barnes (alias The Winter Soldier), will therefore have to present the one who will take the costume in patriotic colors, but also shed light on the fate of old Steve Rogers. Whether it will be roughly determined whether he is still alive somewhere or buried with Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), rumors relayed by Deadline last January would like the (young) character and his interpreter to return to the extended universe.

The beginning of the problems

With the opening of the doors of the Multiverse in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (unless they open in Spider-Man : No Way Home), it is indeed not impossible to review Cap or even an alternative version. In a recent interview with THAT ONE, Kevin Feige has calmed down these hallway noises anyway:

I rarely say no to anything now, because things always surprise me, but this rumor, I think it was refuted by the main party pretty quickly.

It’s obvious that Captain America, like Iron Man, won’t be disappearing completely from the MCU, with their legacy and absence being central to the previous one. Spider-Man : Far from Home and the upcoming Disney + series. With all the projects in development and all the new superheroes to be introduced soon (including the Fantastic 4 and maybe even the X-Men already), Marvel would do well to let its great icons rest in peace after the great pompous homage paid to them.

After that, it is always possible that Kevin Feige pipeaute, even if we really prefer to believe that Chris Evans has turned the page of the MCU. While waiting for the launch of Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the first notices from the American press are right there and the last trailer is here.
