The government continues to strive for equal distribution of vaccinations throughout Indonesia. On this Thursday (14/10), Indonesia received the 89th stage of the vaccine as many as 601,380 doses of Pfizer vaccine.
Director General of Information and Public Communication of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics Usman Kansong said the total pfizer vaccine that had arrived as of October 14 was 16.3 million doses.

“The arrival of Pfizer’s vaccine in its finished form was immediately distributed to eight provinces,” said Usman, Thursday (14/10).
He detailed that the eight provinces in question were South Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, North Maluku, North Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, Maluku, West Sulawesi and West Java.
“As directed by President Joko Widodo, every vaccine that arrives must be immediately distributed, then injected into the community. So that the faster the community is injected, the more protected we will be from COVID-19,” he said.
Meanwhile, Usman added, on the same day, Indonesia also received the 90th stage of the vaccine. The vaccine that arrived was AstraZeneca totaling 672,600 doses. In this way, the total number of vaccines that arrived in the country in various brands, both in finished form and raw materials or in bulk, would make a total of 282,490,700 doses.
According to Usman, increasing vaccination achievements in the regions is an important element to build herd immunity or herd immunity in this country. For this reason, the acceleration and expansion of the vaccination program absolutely must be carried out in all regions. Therefore, continued Usman, the availability of vaccine stocks in the regions is needed.
“At the same time, the government does not forget to remind the public to maintain health protocols,” said Usman.
