Amad Diallo was about to make a rental transfer to Feyenoord last summer. However, the talented Manchester United attacker was injured and the English club decided to have Diallo rehabilitate close to home.
Diallo had already personally agreed and was looking forward to playing for Feyenoord. “That was a little frustrating for me. You have to be mentally strong and that was especially true for me at the time. I could have made playing minutes on a rental basis, but because of my injury it didn’t go through”, the 19-year-old attacker says in conversation with Manchester United TV.
Diallo is currently recovered and ready to join the squad. ”It’s going very well. Today is the last day of my recovery. I think I’ll be ready to join the group tomorrow. That gives a good feeling. It’s not nice to be out with an injury for so long. Now I’m back and I feel good. I hope to stay injury free.”
Feyenoord will once again attempt to bring Diallo to De Kuip during the winter break. The Rotterdammers want to rent the attacker from Manchester United for a longer period. The big question is whether it will work. Clubs from the Premier League, Bundesliga and Championship are also looking for him.
