A 23-year-old film student admitted to several rapes last week in Nancy, reports L’Est Républicain.
It all started when, on the night of October 6 to 7, a 20-year-old young woman was raped in the street. An individual armed with a knife dragged her into a corner before assaulting her and leaving her, bruised and terrified.
A few hours later, “a person came forward to the police to report that a friend had confided in him having raped girls,” said the prosecutor, François Pérain. The investigators make the connection between these two facts and intervene to pick up the suspect during his sports session in a room, under the dumbfounded eye of the other subscribers.
Two other victims identified
Faced with investigators, this film student, unknown to the police, admitted “having also assaulted four or five women”. Two of them have already been identified. They were not raped, but police suspect her involvement in at least one rape case and one of sexual assault.
Until then unknown to the police, the suspect was jailed. “He would have behaved like a real predator, roaming the streets of the city at night for several weeks in order to target a prey among the young women who walked alone”, explain our colleagues.
