I’m a celebrity… Get me out of here! Star Jordan North has spoken about the show set in Wales, suggesting the camp is “darker” and “grim” than the jungle.
The ITV show moved away from its traditional Australian camp for the first time last year and will repeat the feat with a return to Gwrych Castle this year as well.
Jordan, who finished second last year, recently spoke on the BBC Radio 1 driving show with Vick Hope as he explained the reality of the two places.

“I think the castle is totally different from the jungle,” he began. “I think it’s harder, really. In the jungle you can sit in the sun all day long when you are not doing much, the jungle is a beautiful environment.
“I’m not saying Wales isn’t beautiful but this castle is cold,” Jordan continued. “It’s cold, it’s wet, it’s dark. It was awful. I think it is much more difficult. I think it’s a little more sinister, the trials seem darker, more sinister. “
As for any advice he could offer this year’s contestants, the Radio 1 presenter suggested, “Just be yourself. If you try to play with the cameras, you will be discovered. And try not to argue. “

The return to Wales for the second year in a row was confirmed in August, with ITV Head of Entertainment Katie Rawcliffe saying: “We can confirm today that we will be returning to Wales for the 2021 series of I’m a celebrity… Get me out of here!.
“We have always said that we have contingencies in place for the series if the COVID situation continues to bring uncertainty, and after a very successful run to the castle last year, we are happy to be able to return.
“I have no doubt that the production team will produce another extremely entertaining series. “

As the rumor mill turns faster and faster as to who will participate this year, hosts Ant & Dec recently confirmed a big change for the 2021 series.
It also looks like celebrities might have an even tougher time in the castle this year, with Ant warning, “We’re going to try to make it worse for celebrities this year. “
