A pain that does not go away, that of Francesca Neri, who has returned to talk about the disease that struck her and against which she is still fighting. In the long interview he gave to the weekly Today, the actress explained that she felt protected by her husband’s love – Claudio Amendola – but, at the same time, that he was afraid of losing his son forever.
Francesca Neri, the difficult relationship with Rocco
The disease has invaded her body but also her mind, so much so as to push her to completely isolate herself from the rest of the world and close herself in a pain from which his son Rocco he wanted to call himself out: “My son Rocco was not there, he protected himself and I was really afraid of losing him. The great terror was that this image of the mum in pain, motionless, depressed“.
That of isolation was one choice very precise, which he still claims today. His intention was to protect those he loved, leaving them far from that world that was made only of suffering and physical pain. Several times, as he told, he tried to break away from the family also inviting her husband to take their son and leave her alone:
“Come on, take our son and go.” Because in those moments you really want to be alone, knowing that no one can help you. When I saw in him the difficulty, the inadequacy, the impotence, I suffered even more and then I thought that, by pushing him away, I would at least avoid his pain ”.
And keeps going: “Claudio has always remained. With so many moments of crisis, hard days, quarrels. But it has always been there. Claudio saved me. And also my fraternal friend Stefano, who is no longer here ”.
Claudio Amendola’s words to Verissimo
To speak first about the disease of Francesca Neri it was her husband, Claudio Amendola, in a touching interview with very true: “My wife Francesca has an illness for which she finds it hard to live her days. Being close to her wasn’t tiring, it was my job ”.
The acute phase of the disease, which lasted 3 years, is now outdated. Francesca Neri has finally found a balance but is in constant struggle with herself. Love, yes, it really saved her.
