The New York Festivals TV & Film Awards, established in 1957, are among the most prestigious awards for global television production – and in 2021 they also brought numerous Austrian productions a warm shower of awards. In particular, the mystery series “Freud” produced by ORF and Netflix was able to enjoy the entire range of precious metals in the current price classifications on Tuesday evening (local time). The series designed by director Marvin Kren received gold in the “Best Crime” category, silver in the “Best Director” category and bronze for “Best Production Design”.
Prices for Terra Mater
The nature film experts at Vienna’s Terra Mater Factual Studios could almost traditionally look forward to honors. “America’s Arctic”, which they designed, triumphed in the categories “Best Cinematography” and “Nature & Wildlife” -Documentary, while their production “Pumas” also won gold and silver in the nature documentaries for the script and the camera work. Last but not least, the production “Olimba – Queen of the Leopards” of the Kurt Mayer film for the ORF “Universum” series in the documentary section, as well as “The Song of the Gibbons” by Terra Mater silvered their work.
Radio prizes for Ö1
Domestic productions also won the “New York Festivals International Radio Awards”, which were presented at the same time. So the episode “Love, to find beauty everywhere! Evelyn Brezina’s life with glass bones” emerged from the S1– The “Hörbilder” series was awarded a silver prize among the best radio programs and will be repeated again on November 20 at 9:05 am due to the occasion.
