Bathurst, October 12, 2021 – The Vitalité Health Network recognized the exemplary work of the Auxiliaries of the Chaleur Regional Hospital by hanging a commemorative plaque in their honor at the main entrance of the hospital.
The Auxiliary group was created in 1941. The Auxiliaries were then called the “Ladies Aide” and their role was to improve the services and health care at the Chaleur Regional Hospital so that the patients of the establishment would be better served. benefit. Initially, a membership fee of one dollar was requested and guaranteed the development of the first projects. Thirty years later, the group of volunteers had the brilliant idea of setting up and managing a gift shop to support the financing of its initiatives. We owe them a lot. This wall plaque was necessary and deserved given all of their accomplishments, ”said Stéphane Legacy, Vice President, Outpatient and Professional Services.
