State Secretary of Justice Thomas Metz today handed over six funding notices with a total volume of 870,000 euros as part of the “HESSENKASSE” investment program to the municipality of Fürth.
During the handover, Thomas Metz said: “It is a particular pleasure for me to be able to hand over six funding notices to the community of Fürth today. With this support, the local citizens can implement important infrastructure projects in order to improve the quality of life and the attractiveness of the residential location and to modernize the community of Fürth. “
“It is great that we are beneficiaries of the HESSENKASSE’s investment program with six projects and that we can implement important ideas with these funds,” said Mayor Volker Oehlenschläger gratefully. With the promised funding of 200,000 euros, the renewal of the roof of the village community center in the Erlenbach district as well as the insulation and repair of the facade can be tackled. The Fürth town hall will also continue to be energetically optimized and funded with funds amounting to 420,000 euros. “Another building block for climate protection, as well as for improving the local infrastructure, is the investment of 90,000 euros in the construction of a new cycle path between the Fürth district of Ellenbach and the Lindenfels district of Eulsbach,” said Oehlenschläger, himself an enthusiastic cyclist, about this forward-looking step . In order to keep the cycle paths attractive for a long time, 50,000 euros each will be made available in 2022 and 2023 as part of the cycle traffic concept of the municipality of Fürth.
The local recreation area is now becoming even more attractive
On site, State Secretary Thomas Metz was also able to get an idea of the locations for the fourth measure – the redesign of the football field in the Steinbachwiesen multi-generation park, which is subsidized with 60,000 euros. The local recreation area is a real gem in the community of Fürth, where young and old feel equally at home and where another highlight is created with the football field.
“With these investments, we want to keep Fürth attractive for families in particular and increase them even further. In doing so, we are fulfilling our responsibility for the coexistence of the generations, ”said Mayor Volker Oehlenschläger, who was visibly happy about the new opportunities that arise thanks to the funding commitments from the HESSENKASSE investment program.
“It is precisely the smaller towns and municipalities in rural areas that benefit from the subsidies, and that is precisely the aim of the state government’s activities. Creating comparable living conditions for all Hessians is one of the core tasks of politics and we have accepted this task with all our might, ”said Thomas Metz.
