The President of the Office of Rail Transport granted open access for passenger rail transport to the Czech RegioJet on the route from Warsaw East to the Belgian Ostend via Poznań, Frankfurt, Berlin, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerp and Brussels. Open Access was granted for the period from December 12, 2021 to December 12, 2026.
The President of UTK specified in the issued decision that The carrier will run one pair of trains every day, which will stop on the route Warszawa Wschodnia – Ostend with the option of only boarding the train in Poland at the following stations: Warszawa Wschodnia, Warszawa Centralna, Warszawa Zachodnia, Łowicz Główny, Kutno, Konin, Września, Poznań Główny, Świebodzin, Rzepin. On the return route, ie Ostend – Warsaw, at stations in Poland, it will only be possible to get off the train.
Train with international tickets only
The point is that the Czech carrier will not sell tickets on domestic routes, such as Warsaw-Konin or Poznań-Rzepin. We will only buy international tickets for the Poland-Belgium train.
RegioJet is a private company from the Czech Republic. For several years, the company has been developing its network of connections also outside its home country. At the end of 2020 The Office of Rail Transport granted her the right to run on the Przemyśl-Rzeszów-Kraków-Prague route.
The President of UTK has also issued open access for passenger rail transport to Koleje Mazowieckie, which will be able to run connections from Warszawa Zachodnia to Ustka.
Koleje Mazowieckie plans to launch connections on the Warszawa Zachodnia – Ustka route and on the return route operated daily during the summer holidays from 2022 to 2026.
