Spa bonus 2021: how to request it, when and affiliated facilities

Requests to obtain will open in November he bonus term 2021, a voucher for the purchase of spa services intended for all adult citizens residing in Italy. The spa bonus it is a contribution of up to 200 euros which will be paid in the form of a discount on the invoice for the purchase of spa services of accredited facilities.

The voucher for spa services therefore consists in a 100% discount on the purchase price of the selected spa services, up to a maximum of 200 euros, which may be requested by citizens by contacting the spas directly who will be accredited on the platform starting from 28 October. Each adult citizen can take advantage of only one bonus, without Isee limits and without limits related to the family unit. Citizens will be able to apply for the bonus term starting from 8 November, by contacting one of the accredited structures directly. After the launch of the platform, it will be possible to consult the list of accredited spas which will be published and updated in the dedicated sections present at the sites of the Ministry of Economic Development and Invitalia.

The spa bonus was introduced as a measure that aims to support the spa services sector, a sector particularly affected by the Covid emergency; the resources made available for the subsidy measure are equal to 53 million euro e they will therefore involve around 250,000 people. To request the bonus, citizens will only have to contact the accredited spa which, in turn, will request the voucher; from that moment, the citizens they will have 60 days to use the voucher.

It should also be remembered that:

  • the bonus is reserved for adult citizens residing in Italy;
  • the bonus cannot be granted for spa services already paid for by the NHS, other public bodies or subject to additional benefits recognized to the citizen;
  • the bonus cannot be transferred to third parties, either free of charge or in exchange for a cash consideration;
  • the bonus does not constitute taxable income of the citizen who benefits from it and cannot be calculated in the value of the indicator of the equivalent economic situation – Isee referred to in the decree of the President of the Council of Ministers 5 December 2013, n. 159;
  • the bonus cannot be used for catering and hospitality services.
