Tjahjo Kumolo Apologizes for Uploading Hoax Photos of the Cisumdawu Toll Road

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan-RB) Tjahjo Kumolo apologized after uploading photos related to the Cisumdawu Toll road in West Java Province which turned out to be incorrect or hoaks.

Sorry, the posting of the toll road in West Java was wrong, not in West Java (I got the wrong information) thank you for your attention,” wrote Tjahjo via a Twitter account called @tjahjo_kumolo.

Previously, on Saturday (9/10) yesterday Tjahjo uploaded a photo showing a toll road. He stated that the photo was of the Cisumdawu Toll Road that connects Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan.

He also provided information that the Cisumdawu Toll Road splits the mountain. By passing the toll road, the trip from and to Bandung-Tegal takes 2 hours and the trip from and to Bandung-Semarang takes 3.5 hours.

He claims that the travel time via the Cisumdawu Toll Road is faster than traveling without a toll road. Originally, the trip from and to Bandung-Tegal without the toll took 7 hours if it was smooth.

Tjahjo has deleted the tweet with the hoax photo. However, screenshots of the PDIP politician’s tweet have already circulated on Twitter.
