Shelly may have moved her hair and cuts to the Costa del Sol, but that doesn’t mean she’s going to live there permanently. “Everyone thinks that, but that’s a big misunderstanding,” she explains. “We’ll just stay in the Netherlands. I love the Netherlands.”
Although the presenter already has the necessary experience in renovating, she says that she has seriously underestimated the refurbishment of Villa Fuerte – as Shelly has renamed the house. “We are used to renovating in the Netherlands. And that actually always goes quite smoothly, but Spain is still a thing for a while,” she laughs. Yet she is all about her Spanish dream: “I had been sitting for months obsessen on Idealista, the Spanish Funda, about that house.”

Her new palace is an hour from Valencia, so nice and close to the big city. Ten minutes away you will also find beautiful bays. The best of both worlds so – at least you would think so. The TV star confesses in the video that she is secretly already looking at new houses. Shelly is heavily addicted to Funda and digs through the newest gems on the site every morning. She doesn’t rule out moving house: “If we find the right house…” she hints.
