BE Gunnar Solskjaer so far still trusted to handle Manchester United. Even so, that does not mean the Norwegian coach’s position is safe.
Because if Solskajer still continues to give negative results for the team nicknamed The Red Devils, then it is not impossible that he will soon be kicked by the club. So if Solskjaer is sacked, then who will replace the 48-year-old coach?
Here are 5 Candidates to Replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United, Quoting from Sportskeeda:
5. Carlo Ancelotti
Ancelotti is a top coach who has won five league titles in various competitions. The Italian coach was also included in the three coaches who were able to win three Champions League trophies.
If Man United want to win many titles, bringing Ancelotti might be a solution. The problem now is that Ancelotti is still focused on Real Madrid and it’s a bit difficult to see the coach move teams in the near future if Solskjaer is suddenly sacked by Man United.
4. Massimiliano Allegri
Allegri was rumored to be going to the Premier League after leaving Juventus in the summer of 2019. Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are the teams that are reportedly interested in Allegri.
Allegri was noted to be very successful in Italy by successfully bringing Juventus to five Italian League titles, four Coppa Italia trophies, and reaching the Champions League final twice. Allegri’s greatness in concocting a team is considered to be successful if he handles Man United.
Unfortunately, Man United’s opportunity to get Allegri has been lost because at this time the Italian coach has again decided to handle Juventus.
3. Luis Enrique
Luis Enrique currently managed to bring the Spanish National Team (Timnas) to the final of the 2020-2021 UEFA Nations League. If Enrique is able to give the title of the competition, the Spanish coach will further prove his status as a world-class tactician.
If Solskjaer is fired, then Enrique can be the best solution because the coach has not handled the club for a long time. The last time Enrique led the club was Barcelona (2014-2017).
2. Antonio Conte
Antonio Conte could be Man United’s best solution if he sacks Solskjaer in the near future. The reason is that Conte is still unemployed, aka has not handled any club.
Quality-wise, Conte is the world’s top coach. Conte led Juventus to three successive Italian League titles.
Then while at Chelsea, Conte won the Premier League title and the FA Cup. Then at Inter Milan, Conte won one Italian League title.
Conte last managed Inter for two years. In moments with Inter, Conte led the team to the Europa League final in his first season. He then led the Nerazzurri to their first Serie A title in eleven years in his second year.
1. Mauricio Pochettino
Pochettino is a coach who is currently getting the world’s attention. Maybe when he was still in the Premier League, Pochettino didn’t manage to give any titles to Tottenham Hotspur.
Even so, Pochettino was able to lead Tottenham to finish in the top four in a row in the Premier League, and even lead the team to the Champions League final in 2018-2019.
Now Pochettino has been taken by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). With the squad that PSG currently has, as well as Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr and Kylian Mbappe, it is certainly a bit difficult to see Pochettino leave the club.
So can Pochettino replace Solskjaer? Maybe in the near future it feels like it won’t. But if it really happened then it would definitely be a surprise.
