England and Denmark close to going to the World Cup, Cristiano Ronaldo with a record

The Portuguese forward is the highest scorer in the history of the national teams with 112 goals.

England took another step towards next year’s World Cup, thanks to a 5-0 beating on their visit to Andorra.

Ben Chilwell and Bukayo Saka scored in the first half against a team that ranks 156th in the FIFA rankings. Tammy Abraham, James Ward-Prowse and Jack Grealish scored after the break.

Denmark also looks closer to Qatar. He extended his perfect march after seven qualifying rounds, with a 4-0 win in Moldova.

In a friendly match, Cristiano Ronaldo continued to extend his scoring record for the national team and helped Portugal beat Qatar 3-0, while Serbia passed the Portuguese in their knockout group.

And while Italy, the leader of Group C, was inactive from the tie for their participation in the League of Nations, Switzerland took control of the second place of the key, with a 2-0 win over Northern Ireland.

Only the leaders of each group advance directly to the World Cup. The teams that finish second must play a playoff.

Group A

Last month, Cristiano added a double and surpassed the mark of 109 goals set by Iranian Ali Daei. Since then, the Portuguese had missed two games for his national team, including a 3-1 win over Qatar as well.

Back at the Algarve Stadium, Cristiano got his 112 target in the 37th minute, with a left-footed shot. Coach Fernando Santos retired the star at halftime, before José Fonte and André Silva scored the other goals.

Serbia outscored Portugal by one point in the group, beating Luxembourg 1-0. But the Portuguese team has one game less.

The C

Steven Zuber and substitute Christian Fassnacht scored in each half-time injury, after the Northern Irishmen were left with 10 men due to the expulsion of defender Jamal Lewis.

Switzerland reached 11 points, while Italy has 14 and a much better goal difference. Northern Ireland has five units, the same as Bulgaria, defeated 3-1 against Lithuania, which added its first units.

El F

With a comfortable win over Moldova, the Danes scored their seventh win, without conceding a single goal. With three dates to play, they have a seven-point lead over Scotland, who beat Israel thanks to a dying goal.

A penalty from captain Simon Kjaer was one of Denmark’s four goals in a 21-minute stretch before intermission. His total of 26 goals is the best of the 55 nations participating in the tie.

Scottish fans cheered loudly for Scott McTominay’s goal, marking a 3-2 win in packed Hampden Park. Scotland is four points ahead of the Israelis.

Austria defeated the Faroe Islands 2-0 but remained in fourth place.

Group I

Just 2,285 spectators attended the Estadi Nacional de Andorra, where work was carried out at forced marches throughout the night to repair the damage caused by a fire.

In the match, Ukrainian Kateryna Monzul became the first woman to serve as the central referee in a match for England’s senior team.

Phil Foden was the architect of two goals in the first half, to start the win.

England have four points more than second-place Albania, who won 1-0 in their visit to Hungary through a goal from Armando Broja in a closed stadium as punishment for the racist attitudes of the Hungarian fans.

Poland is one point behind, in third place, after shaking San Marino 5-0.
