Lebanon without power for the next few days | Abroad

The power supply in the Arab country has been seriously short for months, with usually only two hours of electricity a day. Many households use diesel generators, but fuel for this is also limited. Last month tankers with diesel arrived from Iran, which were delivered to the powerful Shiite movement Hezbollah.

Lebanon has been struggling with a severe economic crisis for some time now. The value of the Lebanese pound has fallen by 90 percent since 2019, preventing the country from buying fuel. A Turkish company that supplied power from two floating power plants off the coast stopped operating in May after major payment arrears.

Lebanon has had a government again a month after more than a year.
