New vaccination self-appointment schedules for this week

For next week, five new self-appointment schedules have been opened for vaccination against coronavirus, two pertaining to first doses (240 doses from Pfizer) and another three for second doses (120 from Pfizer and 60 from Moderna), which will be inoculated in the Virgen del Mirón Hospital. The population that can request an appointment is between 12 and 90 years old.

The self-appointments for the first doses, 120 each day, are called for next Wednesday the 13th and for Friday the 15th. People who have the second dose pending can access the self-appointments called also for the next week: 60 from Pfizer for the next Wednesday, 60 from Moderna for Thursday and 60 from Pfizer for Friday.

The different calls for self-appointment in Soria can be consulted on the website of Salud Castilla y León, through this link: https://www.saludcastillayleon.es/es/covid-19-poblacion/vacunacion-covid-19/lugares- vaccination / soria.

Three essential aspects are remembered for the proper functioning of self-appointment campaigns: no one should go to the vaccination without the completed self-appointment, of those born in 2009, only those people who on the vaccination date have already reached the age of 12 and minors under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian or provide informed consent signed by one of them, even if accompanied by other family members.

Second doses

To these five self-appointment schedules for vaccination must be added 340 scheduled second doses, with Pfizer, which will be inoculated next Wednesday (114, to those who received the first dose by self-appointment on September 21), on Thursday (106, for those who received the first on September 23) and on Friday (120, for those who received the first puncture on September 24).

Third doses to inmates of nursing homes

The Junta de Castilla y León continues with the administration of a booster dose (third dose) to inmates in residential centers for the elderly in the province.

The Soria Healthcare Management, in collaboration with the Territorial Health Service and the Territorial Management of Social Services, continues to plan the vaccination of all inmates (about 2,071) of the 35 nursing homes located in the province. When the vaccination teams are transferred to the centers, they will inoculate the vaccine to all residents, except for specific exceptions and taking into account that at least 180 days must elapse between the second and third doses.

Next week it is planned to inoculate 295 third doses (these are approximate data). On Wednesday, 75 doses at the Gero Soria (Fuentetoba) and Virgen de la Peña (San Pedro Manrique) residences. On Thursday 35 doses are planned at the Virgen de Olmacedo residence (Ólvega). On Friday 185 doses will be given at the Benilde, San José and El Carmen residences (El Burgo de Osma). The inoculation of third doses in the residences of the province is expected to end (with exceptions) on Monday, October 18.

Extra doses to very high risk people

During the next week Soria also continues the administration of an additional dose (third dose) to people with the conditions included in group 7 of the Strategy, that is, those with conditions of very high risk of serious disease, which is focuses the next few days on people in cancer treatment and treatment with immunosuppressive drugs. The dose schedule is not closed yet.
