Reported difficult driving conditions in several places over the weekend

– If you are going up in height, then switch to winter tires now. It’s too late when you skate around on summer tires on the high mountains. Not only do you risk harming others, but you can also get stuck for a long time if you are really unlucky, says communications consultant Torbjørn Brandeggen in Tryg Forsikring in a press release.

The coming week is the autumn holiday for Innlandet, Møre og Romsdal, Rogaland, Trøndelag, Vestland and Vestfold and Telemark. Large parts of Eastern and Southern Norway end the autumn holidays this weekend.

A warning has been sent out about difficult driving conditions and snow in several places, and in Western Norway a yellow warning has been sent out about a lot of rain.

From Sunday evening until Monday evening, snow showers are expected over 1000-1200 m. Locally, 5-10 cm of snow can fall in the western areas.

– This means danger of surface water and that roads can be closed at short notice. If you start the autumn holidays by car, you should make sure you have food, drink and warm clothes in the car in case you stay standing for a while, says Brandeggen.
