We are talking about the breakdown of the contract with South Africa on the supply of coal to Ukraine and the conclusion of relevant agreements with the terrorist groups “DPR” and “LPR”.
About this at a briefing on October 8 reported Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova and Head of the Security Service Ivan Bakanov. According to the investigation, Medvedchuk entered into an agreement with the highest officials of Ukraine, as a result of which the contract was terminated. (scroll to the end to watch the video).
According to Venediktova, we are talking about the period from the end of 2014 to the beginning of 2015.
“Having received the green light from the top state officials of Ukraine, the leadership of one of the ministries and a number of state enterprises received an illegal order to conclude direct contracts with enterprises, the details of which were transferred to the leaders of the so-called” LPR “and” DPR “, – said the Prosecutor General.
She also added that the People’s Deputy also reported to the top leadership of Russia about contracts concluded with illegal groups.
Thus, Venediktova explained, the terrorists were financed for 200 million hryvnias out of the planned 3 billion.
An audio recording of Medvedchuk’s talks with the Russian leadership was demonstrated at the briefing. According to Bakanov, the investigation has testimony of witnesses – former senior officials, who confirm the provided audio recordings.
The prosecution will ask the court to take Medvedchuk into custody with the possibility of posting a bail of 1 billion hryvnia.
Who was the intermediary and transported coal
At the briefing, the heads of law enforcement agencies clarified that with the mediation of the top manager during the presidency of Viktor Yanukovych, Sergei Kuzyara, firms were opened that transported coal from the occupied territories.
Recall that Kuzyara was extradited to Ukraine in September.
