Job fair in Lunel: dozens of face-to-face meetings between recruiters and job seekers

The 2nd Job Fair organized by the City, the Pays de Lunel and Pôle emploi took place this Thursday in Castel. Forty recruiters were present for these walk-in meetings.

The trend on the unemployment front, as in the economy in general, may well go in the right direction according to national indicators, the 2nd Salon de l’Emploi organized this Thursday by the City, the Land of the Moon and Pôle emploi has raised a lot of expectations. Expectations both on the part of job seekers, but also, and this is undoubtedly quite new, on the part of recruiters.

There were about forty of the latter, or a dozen more than last year, to occupy several rooms of the Espace Castel. Above all, all were present with job offers in most sectors of activity. Like Joséfina, for the Camaïeu boutique, many recruiters were there for the first time. “I offer a 25 hour contract. We know that outside the summer period when we have students, this kind of job is quite complex to fill, so I am trying the Salon de l’Emploi “.

Not far from there, Noëlla is in charge of recruiting for the personal assistance service, Apef. It is also the first time that Apef has participated in the Show and it is coming with great hope in a sector where turnover is high. “If I could have five good profiles that would be great”, says Noëlla before detailing the qualities she is looking for: “People who want to work”.

Historical issues in restoration

Also present at the Salon de l’Emploi, the fast food sector, like Mc Do, is facing an unprecedented labor shortage. Marjorie, who was present last year remembers having completed two hires, two employees who are still present in the company. This year, the context is different. Marjorie came with Coralie hoping to achieve as many jobs as possible: “We have a lot of needs. Before the crisis we received tons of CVs and since then nothing. Catering is no longer attractive and what is new for us is that we are complying with the demands of applicants.”

As far as job seekers are concerned, very many of them pushed open the doors of the Espace Castel. Like Florence, Francisco and Amé beneficiaries of the Youth Guarantee offered by the State. This system offers support and remuneration for one year to any young person who undertakes an active job search. Florence did not have a specific objective when she came to the Salon. “I was coming for the first time and without much conviction. In fact, I found a lot of tips. I have a self-business project and I got a lot of advice. job in my branch, costumery. Suddenly that makes me hesitate “.

Same enthusiasm for Amé, a young fine arts graduate: “I was looking for training in digital illustration or coding. However, I was super surprised that there was all this in such a small town. In addition, the welcome is very friendly and everyone is very endorsement. “ Only Francisco was left unsatisfied. Interested in the job of receptionist, he did not have the chance to find a recruiter in the sector: “ I was possibly looking for an internship to find out if this is really the job I want to do but there was not this kind of proposal here, so I go out with nothing “, loose the young man. This Thursday, however, nearly 150 job offers were offered.
