Huawei has introduced two new laptops in China – the Huawei MateBook 16 and the Huawei MateBook 14s, which will be discussed in the next few lines. We can count on Intel generation 11 chipsets, quality workmanship or a 90Hz display. It is the higher refresh rate that is more the domain of displays on mobile phones than on laptops (if we do not count the gaming ones, which also have 144Hz and higher frequencies). So let’s take a look at him.

Body Huawei MateBook 14s It is made of aluminum and the laptop weighs 1,43 kg and at the thickest point it has a thickness of 16.7 mm. Inside, there are two fans that cool the processors Intel Core i5-11300H nebo Intel Core i7-11370H. Both have four cores and eight threads, the graphics performance is then taken care of by the chip Intel Iris Xe. Basic configuration offers 8 GB RAM typu LPDDR4X, however, it can be expanded to 16 GB. Equally NVMe storage, which basically has a capacity of 512 GB, but can be expanded to 1 TB.
The dominant is then 14.2 ″ display with a resolution of 2520 x 1680 pixels and a practical 3: 2 aspect ratio. As we have already mentioned, the display has 90Hz refresh rate, but in case you would like to save battery, you can of course turn on the classic 60Hz mode. The maximum brightness then reaches 400 nits and Huawei also promises 100% sRGB coverage. You will also enjoy the fact that the display is a touch screen. On the sides we find two USB-C ports, which can be used to charge the notebook, but also allow data transfer. There is also a DisplayPort, USB-A 3.2 Gen1, HDMI or audio jack. From the connectivity, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 are also worth mentioning.
The laptop of course runs on Windows and we can also count on traditional Huawei applications that allow several exclusive features such as Huawei Share. If you also have a tablet from this Chinese company, you can use it as a second laptop display. We can know this function from Apple, which uses the name Sidecar for it. You will also enjoy four built-in speakers with Huawei Sound. There is also a fingerprint reader in the power button and the endurance is taken care of by a 60Wh battery, which is charged using a 90W charger, which is part of the package.
