Bodybuilder found dead in US at age 37

The bodybuilder George Peterson, the Da Bull, 37 years old, was found dead in his hotel room in Orlando, Florida (USA), a few days ago at the Mr. Olympia, the biggest bodybuilding competition in the world.

According to the “Generation Iron” website, Peterson was found by his coach, Justin Miller, who called hotel security after a time of no response from the bodybuilder. The trainer tried to revive Da Bull before the paramedics arrived. The cause of death was not disclosed.

On his social networks, Mr. Olympia confirmed the athlete’s death. “It is with great sadness that we report the unexpected passing of George Peterson, champion on and off stage. Our condolences go out to his family and to all who have respected and admired one of the kindest men we have ever met.”

George would compete in the men’s 212 division – which includes athletes up to 212 pounds (approximately 90kg) – of Mr Olympia. The competition, held in Orlando, starts today and ends this Sunday.

In bodybuilding a decade ago, Da Bull was in the top three of Mr Olympia’s 212 category. The athlete had four bronzes in the competition, plus a gold in the Classic Physique at Arnold.
