The head of the department of architectural and construction control of the Kiev City State Administration (KSCA) is suspected of extorting money from entrepreneurs. The official was detained while receiving a bribe.

According to the investigation, the KSCA official demanded money from the owners of small and medium-sized businesses. In case of refusal, he threatened entrepreneurs with “checks.”
The average bribe was $ 2,000. The official was detained near one of the capital’s markets during the transfer of a bribe. For this money, he promised the businessman not to carry out an “additional check” of the legality of the placement and operation of his commercial building.
The SBU noted that the KSCA official has established a mechanism for receiving money from entrepreneurs from various fields, including trade and public catering.
