As indicated on the website of the Latvian electricity market operator (electricity exchange) JSC “Nord Pool”, today the maximum price per one megawatt hour (MWh) from 8.00 to 9.00 has reached 256.06 eur.
The situation is identical in Estonia at the same time, but in Lithuania the price is higher at 299.93 eur / MWh.
If we compare with October 7 of last year, the same time period, then the price was 55.10 eur / MWh. The same in all Baltic countries.
The Latvenergo customer service portal Elektrum’s website states that “Currently, there is no other more appropriate term for the situation – we are experiencing a crisis, an unprecedented rise in prices in the energy markets, which affects every energy service provider and citizen in Europe.”
