Spain is captivated by Gavi. The seventeen-year-old midfielder of FC Barcelona made his debut for Spain on Wednesday and is the youngest A-international ever from that country. National coach Luis Enrique, who dared with Gavi, is full of praise for him.
Gavi has only played seven games for Barcelona. “He plays as if he is playing football in the schoolyard or in the garden,” Enrique told Spanish media.
“We are very happy and satisfied to have a player with this quality and personality. Can you see how good the Spanish talents are? It is not common for a debutant to show so much confidence in his first game. He will be the future and be the present of Spain.”
Gavi is a 17-year-old who has been given the opportunity by Ronald Koeman in the Barcelona first this season. That came under criticism for Koeman, because he would send a too young Barcelona on the field.
