In the evening, the Russian president will celebrate his birthday with relatives, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said
Russian President Vladimir Putin is celebrating his 69th birthday today, but his work program is full.
“No doubt tonight he will celebrate his holiday with relatives and friends. This is always the case,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.
Over the years, the Russian head of state has received many gifts, some of which were very unusual – a two-month-old Siberian tiger, a copy of Monomakh’s hat – one of the symbols of autocracy in Russia, or a crystal crocodile. According to Peskov, traditionally most of Putin’s gifts are arranged in the presidential library, but some of them, mostly from friends, the birthday boy leaves for himself.
Putin himself said succinctly about his birthday: “This is not a national holiday.”
