Leipzig – For several weeks the palm garden next to the Sachsenbrücke is one of the main crime areas in Leipzig, there are always attacks and attacks there. So also last weekend.

According to the police, two young men (16, 20) were victims of a robbery on the Sachsenbrücke in the night from Friday to Saturday at around 11:40 p.m.

They first engaged four men in a conversation there, then surrounded the two of them and began to threaten them both verbally and violently. The 16-year-old was injured by a blow to the back of the head.

Meanwhile, another man searched the victims’ pockets and eventually picked up a jukebox. Then the attackers fled.

The men were described as follows:

Person 1:

  • around 16 to 18 years old
  • about 1.75 to 1.80 m tall
  • short dark hair with shaved sides
  • slim stature
  • narrow face
  • dark complexion
  • dark clothing (track jacket, long pants)
  • spoke German with an accent.

Person 2:

  • around 16 to 18 years old
  • about 1.80 to 1.85 m tall
  • short black hair
  • dark skin color
  • normal stature
  • dark long-sleeved clothing
  • spoke German with an accent.

The first person and the third suspect were described as “southern” by the witnesses. The police have no information on the fourth person. The investigated because of serious robbery and dangerous bodily harm.

As the police department in Leipzig announced, there were also two violent attacks in the area of ​​the palm garden during the night from Saturday to Sunday.

On Saturday evening around 11 p.m., a 15-year-old was out and about at the Elsterwehr when two young men suddenly approached him, attacked him and asked for his valuables.

The teenager gave them his bag of cash and cell phone, among other things. According to the police, the total value of the stolen objects is a low four-digit amount.

The perpetrators were described as follows:

Person 1:

  • around 16 years old
  • about 1.75 to 1.80 m tall
  • broad stature
  • dark complexion
  • black short hair
  • wore a medical mask
  • gray sneakers, gray sweatpants, gray hoodie with a hood over the head
  • spoke German with an accent.

Person 2:

  • around 16 to 17 years old
  • about 1.85 to 1.90 m tall
  • slim stature
  • dark complexion
  • dark short hair
  • wore a medical mask
  • spoke German with an accent.

The criminal police have started investigations into robbery extortion.

Winge minutes later, the next attack followed

According to the police, the second attack took place shortly afterwards around midnight. This time an 18-year-old was the victim of a robbery while he was out in the palm garden.

A group of ten to 15 people are said to have surrounded, kicked and beaten him. After a few minutes they finally let go of him, whereupon the slightly injured 18-year-old discovered that his cell phone was missing.

He described the attackers as follows:

  • between 15 and 20 years old
  • short hair
  • some had full beards
  • sportswear
  • spoke Arabic
  • “Mediterranean” appearance.

The 18-year-old was able to describe one of the people more precisely: This attacker had a gaunt figure, curly hair and brown eyes.
