Game Streaming Platform Twitch Admits to Hacking and Data Leaks

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Platform streaming game Twitch confirmed that it had suffered a large-scale data breach.

“We can confirm that a data breach has occurred,” a Twitch spokesperson said on Twitter The Verge, Thursday (7/10/2021).

Furthermore, the spokesperson also revealed, “Our team is working with urgency to understand the extent of this problem. We will provide update to the community as soon as additional information is added.”

According to information, so far hackers have leaked data that includes source code for streaming service company.

Data source code it belongs to an unreleased Amazon Game Studios product. Another piece of information that has also been leaked is the creator’s payment details.

Previously, an anonymous poster on 4chan messaging board released a torrent with a capacity of 128GB. The uploader claims the contents of file it covers the entire history of Twitch.

File is labeled “part one“, suggesting that there may be more files hacked by Twitch.
