CDMX will offer a vaccine option to those who travel or laggards

The Ministry of Health of Mexico City plans to give vaccination options to people traveling to the United States or countries with vaccination restrictions, as well as to laggards who did not complete their schedule against COVID-19.

This was explained by the head of the agency, Oliva López Arellano, who assured that by completing the vaccination process for those over 18 years of age, as well as for minors with comorbidities, they will release more information for those who require certain types of vaccines .

“We have had cases of, for example, people who go to study in European countries or in the United States. Then a specific request is made and we look for a way to solve, in general, Astra Zeneca and Pfizer vaccines are the ones we apply in these cases, “he said. this September 28.

“We have people who are lagging, surely when we close the vaccination process we will open an option for people who are lagging behind to be vaccinated and it is very likely to be with one of these, especially with Astra, which is the one that is being packaged in the country”, the official explained.

However, López Arellano recalled that “all vaccines are good and protect” against serious and non-serious COVID pictures.

According to the secretary, the capital government is committed to applying this week about a million doses, to have coverage of at least one vaccine for people over 18 years of age.

This, due to the application of vaccines such as Sputnik V that are not accepted in countries such as the United States, who maintains immigration restrictions for those who have the Russian vaccine.

López Arellano trusted that within a certain time other vaccines will be accepted by the WHO and other countries, but for those who require it, another biological option will be sought.

“There are pressures in terms of the World Trade and Tourism Organization that are concerned about selective restrictions and are pressing for the acceptance of all the vaccines that the WHO has considered approved for the emergency,” he said.
